I’m Elien, the one behind this blog. A self-taught baker, author, and food lover, most of my days involve experimenting with recipes, taking food photographs, or spending time in the garden.

Creating tasty food from scratch has always been a passion of mine, a habit rooted in my Belgian origins (where love for chocolate, mussels, waffles, and bread are a given!)

While my initial blog posts included a mix of gardening and cooking, over the years, I’ve found myself more drawn to the food side. Gardening is still a part of my life, but these days, my posts are mostly about food – from everyday meals to more baking.

Another aspect of this journey has been improving my photography skills. Taking pictures of the food I make has become more than just a way to document my recipes; it’s a creative outlet in its own right. I’ve learned a lot about food styling and photography over the years, and I love the challenge of making food look as good as it tastes.
